Clean up after carnival

It's Wednesday. Enjoyed Carnival as usual. But streets are still littered with cans, food, other debris and really smelling. Why can't the clean up be done more quickly and thoroughly with the pavements being washed - or do we just have to wait for the first rainfall to wash it all away ? This is a question for the Council I suppose.

To be fair, the K&C do a great job on the whole cleaning up. In the last few years they have got quicker in clearing on the debris after the bank holiday. After 2000's carnival the rubbish was in the streets for days.

when i lived in the area, on southern row - so right the heart of bud bus land, i was AMAZED at how quickly the place got back to normal. the toilets remained for a few days, but the mountians of paper, cans, food & general rubbish piled in the street literally disappared within 24 hours!
